What has Pop art given to contemporary art?

“Andy Warhol was one of the main artists of pop art in the 1960’s, he was a massive trendsetter and every artist was inspired and influenced by him.  He was criticized in the early days of pop art because he said he wanted to be a machine.  He wanted his work to become a mass cultural phenomenon, recognized popular cultural artwork, mass produced by machines and available to everybody.”

“Exit through the gift shop is a documentary film, which has attracted a lot of controversy.  It questions the authenticity of artists and the actual reality is the documentary is real or just staged.  The documentary film was originally about Banksy but through out the film it transpires to be about an amateur French filmmaker Terry Guetta. Banksy’s helps guide and inspire terry to become an over night world famous artist. In the documentary film terry Guetta products a large scale exhibition of his work much like Banksy’s with his large elephant as seen in  Through out the documentary you can see how easy it was for Terry to become a so called “artist” with just one show”
